Whether you've been thinking about a monograph for years or already have a manuscript underway, I can help shape your ideas, your process, and your point of view into a book that reads entirely in your voice. Translating a visual language into compelling prose requires knowing the right questions to ask, but also knowing what to do with the answers. I also ghostwrite newsletter columns, articles, and keynote talks.

Written by you. Crafted by me.
-
A career-defining book that documents your body of work, articulates your design philosophy, and gives your practice the critical context it deserves.
-
Whether your draft needs a structural overhaul or a final polish, I offer editing at every level, from developmental work that shapes narrative arc, chapter structure, and voice, to line editing that refines clarity, rhythm, and word choice sentence by sentence. For designers and architects who have already done the hard work of getting words on the page, I can help turn a rough draft into something you're proud to put your name on.
-
I write publisher- and agent-ready proposal packages that make the strongest possible case for your book. It will cover concept and positioning, target audience, competitive landscape, chapter-by-chapter outline, author biography, and a polished sample chapter. For designers and architects whose work deserves a major publishing home, this is where it starts.
-
I write essays and scholarly texts for coffee table books and monographs. These are introductory essays that set the critical context for your body of work, and project-specific texts that bring individual commissions to life on the page. I also write shorter-form pieces written in your voice for catalogues, exhibition publications, and industry titles.
How it Works
Before any writing begins, I'll send you a short form to fill out covering the basics, including the scope of the project, your timeline, your audience, and any reference material that might be useful. From there, we'll schedule a discovery call to go deeper.
For longer projects like books, the process unfolds in stages. I first immerse myself in your work, through in-depth interviews, studio visits, and archive review. I'll then share a full chapter outline and one sample chapter for your sign-off before drafting accelerates. From there, you'll receive chapters at regular intervals with room to refine, until the manuscript is ready for your agent, editor, or publisher.
THE PROCESS
To scope a book project accurately, it helps to know:
The format and intended length of the project
Your target audience and where you hope it will be published or distributed
Any existing notes, outlines, or materials you'd like me to work from
Your timeline and any fixed deadlines
How involved you'd like to be in the process
Contact details for collaborators or sources you'd like included
Not sure about some of these yet? That's what the discovery call is for.
